I would like to know anything about the history of my recently acquired modified 1987 M15 bought from Marty Loken out of Port Townsend Wa. a few years ago . Does anybody recognize it ? It has a completely different cabin cockpit and deck shape. How is this even possible ?! I cant see any joints so I assume the entire deck/cockpit / cabin was fabricated and installed on an original hull. Sure is uglier than those original sweet cabin lines but as far as practicality goes it actually has an enviable amount of space inside. I've spent the covid year restoring her and she's sweet and sails well with the standard mast rigging and a replaced full batten main. Stay away from beauty contests and enjoy the sweet sailing characteristics and the chandelier you can hang in the cabin. On Wed, Jul 21, 2021 at 3:05 PM Roger Langmaid <rogeregon@gmail.com> wrote:

Well ... I remember this boat being discussed some years ago. Can't remember the specifics. As Marty lives next to me on his boat I just knocked on his companionway and asked! The history that Marty knows is that the owner that did the mod was very tall and wanted more room below. This owner just sawzalled off the hose and made what can be seen. Marty wanted to know what a M15 sailed like so he bought the boat. :: Dave Scobie :: M6'8" #650 :: SV SWALLOW - sv-swallow.com :: former owner M17 #375 SWEET PEA - m17-375.com :: former owner M15 #288 SCRED - m15namedscred.wordpress.com <<-- new site!
