Just a small heads-up: The latest Good Old Boat magazine arrived last night, and I found a rather good article on the Nor'Sea 27 in it. If I hadn't wanted one before, I would now. Giles Morris
Giles, I'll probably receive my issue today. Its a great magazine! It should be a good story about my friends Greg and Jill and how they live aboard a Nor'Sea 27. The're getting ready to going full time cruising. Everyone should check out their homepage. Greg and Jill have really been innovative in outfitting their Nor'Sea 27. I like their neat cockpit table. We had a large crowd in the cockpit having wine, crackers and cheese. What fun! Heres the URL on their Nor'Sea 27 homepage: http://delezynski.tripod.com/Guenevere I was there when Karen Larson (the Editor of Good Old Boat) and her husband were in Oakland to research that story. We had a new 2002 model Nor'Sea 27 on display during Pacific Sail Expo at the Oakland Yacht club. We were in town for the annual "Nor'Sea Fest" that we attend every year. Its held at the Oakland Yacht club during the saturday that the Pacific Sail Expo Sailboat Show is running. (Usually around April 20th) This last year we had a great turn out. Plenty of Nor'Sea 27s that were older and plenty of Nor'Sea 27s that I built over the last 22 years. Its a trip to see a boat you built in 1982, 20 years ago, that still looks wonderful. (and ready for sea) We had PLUME, a 2002 model Nor'Sea 27 on display and the boat was constantly full of people sitting down below admiring her. (plenty of beer on the dock and some great sea storys, some actually true....hehehe) Heres a cut and paste from PLUMEs owners: We ordered a new Nor'Sea 27 from Bob Eeg in October 2001. It is an aft cabin model, we named it PLUME and launch her in April 2002 in the San Francisco Bay. We hired a Marine Surveyor to look PLUME over at the factory during construction and he was quite impressed with the build quality and construction. We went down to the factory about every other weekend to appreciate the progress and work on the boat ourselves (it was a Kit 3): Bob kindly let us work at his boatshop and he was helpful in every aspect of our project. It was a very good experience. We have a web site with more pictures of PLUME. It is not up-to-date and... in French! But if you click on IMAGES, you should find your way... http://plume.flupe.net/ If you have any question, do not hesitate to contact us directly. (END) Its a hoot trying to read this website in French! The photos are very good. Karen larson and her husband (the Editors of Good Old Boat) were aboard for several hours and they dedicated the entire weekend to attending our Nor'Sea party. We all had a fabulous dinner over at a home on the water that another Nor'Sea owner had arranged. ( a large turnout) I took some great photos when Greg and Jill (along with Karen) took out their 27 and we followed along in PLUME. (If anyone wants a few JPEGs of PLUME at our factory let me know and I will email a few over) All in all we had a great time, saw some good ideas and made more friends. I really like Good Old Boat Magazine. Some photos of another Nor'Sea 27 I built in 1986 and an older 23 that Michael Bowden owns can be seen on the Good Old Boats website: http://www.goodoldboat.com/photos.html Thanks to everyone who emailed support for our Company and service. (never have heard of 'Kyle Enlow' before. Notice he never introduced himself; he has never called before; he has never emailed our website and asked any questions; I may be wrong but it looks like a flame and run. Like I said, I may be wrong. We will see. We often have boats in stock and a serious interested buyer type will call to see what we have in stock or when the next boat will be ready.) Is "Good Old Boat" going to feature the M23, too, or does it just have the pic on its website? I thought someone had mentioned a printed article on the 23' was to appear in GOB (???) . . . I agree, "Good Old Boat" is great: It's one "flaw" is that it's bi-monthly . . . Six issues a year just aren't enough. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bob" <Bobeeg@earthlink.net> To: <montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Tuesday, October 29, 2002 11:39 AM Subject: Nor'Sea 27 in Good Old Boat and thanks Giles, I'll probably receive my issue today. "I agree, "Good Old Boat" is great: It's one "flaw" is that it's bi-monthly . . . Six issues a year just aren't enough." The solution is to Subscribe to both "Good Old Boat" and "Small Craft Advisor" www.smallcraftadvisor.com (also 6 issues per year). That way you have a different issue to read for every month of the year!
