That's what I found when a bulkhead compass started leaking. I don't like to replace stuff that's repairable and was all fired up to repair it, but by the time I'd had a look at what a 20 year old compass looked like (you wouldn't _believe_ how much oily goop it can drip all over everywhere) a new one looked like a really good deal.
