We have another new Montgomery 17 coming out of the mold and is available without waiting. We have had a very busy summer and fall, built boats for many nice people: http://personal.palouse.net/vhimsl This Montgomery 17 is the next out of the mold and Sheer color and cushion colors can still be picked. Some options can still be installed. Call or email for details. If someone ordered enough options we would pay the shipping to anywhere in the lower 48...... And thats a good deal. Bob (949) 489-8227
I'm planning to refurbish my 83 M-15 trailer. The body of the trailer is sound but just about everything bolted on is rusted and will need to be replaced. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. I observed in the photos on the Vince and Sharon site that the new trailers have the winch mounted higher up on a tall frame that is used to hold the mast when being towed. I'm considering constructing this myself and bolting it to the trailer. How high relative to the bow of the boat should the winch be? The boat has no eye-hook so I just tie the line from the winch to the bow cleats. Is that optimum? Also does anyone have advice on adding guides to make putting the boat on the trailer easier? As always, thanks, Dave Rossi M-15
Hi Dave, I purchased my M15 a little over a year ago from Bob Eeg and it came with a Pacific Trailer. The boat does have an eye hook and it is about 15 inches below the tip of the bow. My winch strap is at the same height so it is straight pull. I added 5 ft bunk board guides without a problem but I don't know if they will fit all trailers. They were about $100. Holler if I can be of any help in measuring parts on my trailer. Don Olson M15 Phoenix, AZ
