Any suggestions on where to ge a cover for M-15? I am in San Diego but could do mail order Thanks Jim Sadler
Jim: I had a cover for my M15 custom made from Sunbrella by Hogin Sails 1807-D Clement Ave. Alameda CA 94501 510 523-4388. I trailered my boat to the sail maker and they measured it and made a pattern. The cover goes over the bow pulpit down over the bow and stern and halfway down the sides of the boat. There is a seam with fasteners running up the center line of the boat with the cover extending up the base of the mast and tied around it. They probably still have the patterns from which they can make a cover for you. Murray Wood M15 #283 Jim Sadler wrote:

I just have one comment here, on the Sunbrella. Although it's a fabulous fabric - I ordered some in Erin Green to patch a bit that had been on a cruising boat for at least 10 years and the color matched perfectly; that's saying a lot as the boat had been in Mexico's hot sun - it is very vulnerable to chafing. As such, I would probably look into something like Top Gun (doesn't come in as many colors but is very chafe-resistant) or something similar for a boat cover, especially if you might trailer with the cover in place. There is a lighter version (less heavy I mean) of Top Gun (Odyssey?) that might be fine for an M-15. Not that Sunbrella can't work - especially if you cover chafe-prone areas with Stamoid or something similar, but if I were starting from scratch... www.sailrite.com has good info on the properties of the various fabrics and their suitability for various boat projects, and if you decided to order from them they're great folks. I like their paper catalog for reference. --- Rachel Fatty Knees 7' #302 Former owner, M-17 #334 Former owner, M-15 #517
