I made a mount for the camera that clamps onto the whisker pole near the end. http://www.bright.net/~htmills/cameramountwhiskerpole.jpg A topping lift hooks onto the top of it to hold the thing up in the air. It could have been a little more compact. Also, it's more awkward than you might think to get the thing out and keep it where you want it. But....first try.
