Fellow Montgomery owners, Recently purchased a 1978 M17 stored in former owners backyard, under tarp, for 26 years. I have refinished all teak, replaced all running rigging, and applied wax and polish. She looks great! My wife and I sail in Sequim Bay, Olympic Peninsula, Washington. Our only problem is locating a porta potty that fits in the molded base beneath the v berth; any suggestions would be appreciated. Fair Winds,Mike W
Welcome Mike! Congrats on the vintage M17. I have #38 from 1974 myself, "Pajarita" - does yours have a name? Re the toilet thing, you might want to look at options like this instead of (large heavy messy sloshing liquid old-school) portapotties: http://www.cleanwaste.com/go-anywhere-toilet-kit ...there are a bunch of options for portable 'seats' that use these types of bags and would fit and stow easier in an M17, a couple examples: https://www.amazon.com/JXHD-Portable-Collapsible-Toilet-Vehicle/dp/B07H9J592... https://www.amazon.com/Reliance-Products-Portable-Lightweight-Self-Contained... ...as well as seats that just go on a 5-gal size bucket top and use these types of bags, e.g. https://www.rei.com/product/876179/reliance-luggable-loo-portable-toilet cheers, John On 5/22/19 1:41 PM, Michael Witkin via montgomery_boats wrote:

Michael, you mighty also look at a galvanized grain bucket. I found mine at Tractor Supply Co. It fits in the base of my M-15. Because of its size, I found that I don't have to use a toilet seat. I had the folding 3-legged stool for a couple of years but it couldn't stand up to use in a heeling, rocking boat. Welcome, Michael, I used a 3.5 gallon plastic bucket, adapted a regular toilet seat to it. I also use those porta potty bags with absorbent and disinfectant already in them. Good for wife who can't pee over the lee rail. When done, just close them up and discard ashore. <https://www.avast.com/sig-email?utm_medium=email&utm_source=link&utm_campaign=sig-email&utm_content=webmail&utm_term=icon> Virus-free. www.avast.com <https://www.avast.com/sig-email?utm_medium=email&utm_source=link&utm_campaign=sig-email&utm_content=webmail&utm_term=link> <#DAB4FAD8-2DD7-40BB-A1B8-4E2AA1F9FDF2> On Thu, May 23, 2019 at 1:46 AM Michael Murphy <paulaandmike48@gmail.com> wrote:
