Hi Gerry and Listers, I always removed the outboard when I transported Dhana or my M17, Bonita. The Mariner 8hp, or, my older Honda BF10 weighed around 75 lbs so it was manageable to mount with one other person. The newer 4 stroke outboards are of course, much heavier. I have heard good reviews of the Yamaha high thrust 8hp. I have seen them mounted on Flickas. I had a chance to sail a Flicka briefly years ago, but, there was not much wind. I could not get a good feel for how she performed. I was more drawn to her big sister, the mighty Dana 24. Almost bought one to replace my M23. But, alas, I could not part with my lovely wrinkleboat.
