I am no expert and am just giving my 2 Canadian cents worth.... but from what I have seen and done I would say would might be OK (with a 15, not a 17) if there is no sand, water or gravel on your ramp when you are retrieving. It would also be an advantage if you have a manual tranny. Could be iffy with an auto. I use a macho van with a healthy 3.3L V6 and front wheel drive, no problems at all. If your Jetta is the turbo charged type and is good mechanical condition I would bet that you could launch and retrieve your Monty. Bring a 25 foot tow rope just in case. Use it on the trailer, that will put you and your Jetta on flatter, dryer ground to make retrieval easier. Got that trick from my Uncle 25 years ago. ----L.
