Hi All, Seems lots of people on the list are independently getting the twofootupitus and trading in their M-15 for the M-17. Must be a national epedemic. And here I am going the otherway. Special thanks to David Wood and M-15 "Margarita" for my test sail yesterday. Just for information... when I first sailed the M-15 with Bob Becker two years ago, I was most recently familiar with the Potter 15 and was delighted in the M-15. This time however, things were different. My most recent boat to compare against is #496 M-17. The P-15 was absolutely no comparrison and I wrote a most derogitory report on the P-15 while speaking very highly of the M-15. Here's my feelings today about the M-15: Jerry M... you did good! David & I sailed for a couple of hours on Southern Oregon's Howard Prairie Lake with white caps and near 20 knot winds. We didn't bother to reef and hiked out as far as possible to keep her flat and flew across the lake. David says he felt a little cautious when he first got Margarita, but after seeing how she gets into the groove, and handles the heavy winds, has become confident in her abilities. We had a great time and I'm certain now, I'll be ordering a new M-15. Fortunately I'll be borrowing Margarita while I'm in Oregon as the Monty Factory is backordered a number of boats . Just as well, this gives me the time to decide on what options to get and how I want her outfitted. Someday I'll make a list of the reasons why the M-15 is better for me and post them. Until then as everyone knows, the best boat is the one that suits "you" best. Bill www.msog.funtigo.com
