Dave Scobie, Just curious: With all of the thousands of miles you drive towing a boat, have you had any problems with stone chips and dings on the boats? Have you done anything to prevent this or has it not been a problem? Henry -- Sent from Gmail Mobile on Windows 10 phone

My original Trail Rite trailer has suffered more road damage than my M-15 on it, have towed it to Lake Couer D'Alene and Lake Pend Orielle in N. Idaho as well as over the Washington Cascades and Oregon Cascades back and forth to Coos Bay, Oregon and most recently to South Puget Sound, with road nicks in the trailer but not on the boat. Probably have done more damage to the trailer from salt water launches, should have repainted those road nicks before putting it in salt water, but I learn from experience. Have learned to always zirk the wheel bearings going in and out of salt water, Steve M-15 335 (1985) -----Original Message----- From: Dale Nummi via montgomery_boats Sent: Friday, November 3, 2017 11:26 AM To: For and about Montgomery Sailboats Subject: Re: M_Boats: Road rash? Hi Henry: I've had one issue over the last six years ... and that was a special case. Four or so years ago I-70 at the CO-UT boarder there was a police involved shooting. the interstate was shut down down. traffic was re-directed to a 'road'. it was a washboarded gravel farm road. I was going along at 20 or so MPH and the semi-trucks were going 70. a couple threw up a bunch of rocks (no surprise). I got a chip on Sage 17 AIR BORN. I've never had a chip from highway (ie, paved) driving with all the S17s, S15s and SCs I've towwed. :: Dave Scobie :: former M15 owner #288 - http://www.freewebs.com/m15-name-scred :: M17 #375 SWEET PEA - http://www.m17-375.webs.com :: Sage 17 #1 - AIR BORN - http://sagemarine.us/sage_17.html :: Sage 15 sloop #001 - ASOLARE - http://sagemarine.us/sage_15.html <-- for sale! :: SageCat #000 - SAGECAT - http://sagemarine.us/sagecat.html <-- for sale! :: SageCat #002 - LYNX - http://sagemarine.us/sagecat.html <-- for sale! Snow on the ground this A.M. reminded me that winter is coming. Took my outboard motor from my M-15 into a local outboard shop to get it winterized today. The motor is getting heavier, putting on weight. A guy needs to watch those things, they will sneak up on you and get heavier as you get older. Come to think about it, I used to do the winterizing myself, but not anymore. Steve M-15 # 335 South Puget Sound
