John- think most of my thoughts about tuning are in the archives. How long ago was the time when you could keep up with the Catalina? Enough time for the sails to go bad? Have you messed with the mast rake? Something has changed, or maybe the Catalina owner has improved his boat somehow, like better tuning or new sails. Hard for me to make a constructive comment without knowing the history of both boats. I'm sending this one. I am very frustrated becasue a Catalina 22 is outpointing me when I use to stay with it, or point higher by pinching. Maybe you can tell me what to look for, adjust, fix etc to get back to being competitive. This sucks! John
