Re:Chump pumps- now chimps
Dear Giles: THANKS very much for the link. I figured out that it was made by Henderson... the name and address are molded into the housing, I just couldn't see it until I removed it. Figured out it was a "chimp" from the internet... looks like "chump" because of that groovy 70s typestyle. But I couldn't find ANYBODY with a rebuild kit. I'll order one from the UK if I have to. Thanks again for your help! Best BG
It doesn't sound completely serious, but yes, there is such a pump. It's a Henderson Chimp (makes about as much sense as "Chump") and it's commonly fitted on British sea kayaks. I _think_ that Whale and Henderson are either the same company or connected.

A quick web search didn't find any suppliers here, but this is a UK supplier of rebuild kits: http://www.marathonleisure.co.uk/acatalog/Marathon_Leisure_Ser_Kit_Hende rson_Chimp_1_Neo_2249.html
It might be worth calling Fawcetts in Annapolis (800) 456-9151 because they will be used to Brits passing through. Or possibly contacting importers of British sea kayaks.
