Hi Gary, It's so hard sometimes to follow a thread after some time has gone by. So, to answer the question... To walk a boat from shore or in this case on a dock, remove the rudder is the best bet, however, if one could keep it centered, that would be fine too. The real key is to have the bow line longer than the stern line with the bow away from you and actually doing most of the pull on the stern line. The boat cants outward at the bow as you walk it.
