Re: M_Boats: Texas sailing
hello Wayne, Congratulation on your "new" boat. Those are nice cruisers. You might consider puttin gyour name on the Mboat list registeration. Will you be trailering or going to keep your boat in a marina? We had a fun sail this past Sat. at Somerville. We had small boats up to the largest cruisers at the marina. It was a joint outing with the TAMU club. Well stay in touch and looking forward to sailing with you. Randy & Greta Watkins <<< wayne@ev1.net 2/ 4 10:33p >>> Hi Randy; Sorry my e-mail kicked your reply back but thanks for your letter replying to my request for the names of any M17 owners looking to sell. I did contact a man Sunday night & closed the deal for a '76 M17, I pick it up Feb. 9, can't wait I'm like a kid on Christmas morning. Hope to see you In May ( if not sooner) & sail when you come to Kemah. Looking foward to joining any group sails this year. fair winds Wayne Yeargain ----- Original Message ----- From: "Randy Watkins" <watkins@odpemail.tamu.edu> To: <montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Thursday, January 24, 2002 2:20 PM Subject: M_Boats: Texas sailing Texas sailors , vistors welcome! Hello fellow sailors, I've had discussions with some different sailors and a few group sails have been discussed for consideration. I thought I'd put these out to give you time to consider, comment on and perhaps recommend a date / location. 1. Jan. 19/20- Choke Canyon, Tx ( fairly close to Corpus Christi, Tx ) http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/park/choke/ cruise leader- Louis Cisnero ( this one has alreadt taken place, it was fun, large lake, not crowded, I'd like to revisit ) This is a new site for me and a few of us are sailing / camping there this weekend. 2. Feb. 2 Texas A&M Sailing Club / Brazos Valley Sailing Club- group sail cruise leader- John C. Lofgren location: Lake Somerville, Tx http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/park/lakesome/lakesome.htm 3. March-open 4. April- There are plans forming for a group sail at Canyon Lake, Tx. The Canyon Lake Yacht Club ( CLYC )is interested in helping promote / sponsor a small boat gathering. Cruise contact: Jim Williams ( CLYC member ) http://swf67.swf-wc.usace.army.mil/canyon/RecParks.htm 5. May-open I'll be in the Kemah / Clear lake area the week of May 20-24 for business and am planning putting the boat in the water for the week. Come and join me for a day or two, sail in the bay, local area. http://www.seabrook-shipyard.com/ 6. May- or June Sabine Lake? 7. I'm looking forward to hearing your ideas.
