"Serious sailers" followed by "$4,000 firm" is a double insult. This kind of nonsense is what gives Montgomery a bad name. Montgomery is indeed a respectable product--it's just not the gold standard. Bill, The problem here is that nobody wants to be told that any decision they make (and financial decisions are high on that list) is a foolish one. And i think you know that and are enjoying the prospect of getting a bunch of great people into a tizzy. Let it go... you are looking quite foolish right about now. There is a Potter 15 in Sac right now going for $3500. Looks to be in the same condition as the Monty 15. The Potter will sell for this price and the Monty too (and there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that the Monty is worth the extra $500... Bill, admit it, there's no doubt in your mind either). Buyer and seller agree on price... done deal. Go to your local community college and enroll in a basic economics class. They will speak to you about price elasticity, supply v. demand and other conditions that may help you get a grasp on how and why products sell for the prices they sell for. Jeff PS... I've thought this whole series of threads with Bill a bit silly so I've just been deleting them all, but something was said below that has piqued my curiosity. What is the "Gold Standard"?

Good grief, this is getting rather tiresome. As Mark Twain said long ago: "Differences of opinion; that's what makes horse races." Regards, Larry Jeff Royce wrote:
