Just wondering if standing rigging on the the M-17 has always been 5/32", as it seems to be on mine. Tom Jenkins M17 Hull 626
The forestay on my M17 (#233-1977) is 5/32, but the upper and lower shrouds and the backstay are all 1/8. I bought the boat in 1998, and I don't know if all the rigging is original. Tom...M_17 rigging is 1/8th inch. The only exceptions (sometimes) are the Headstays that upsize to 5/32nd to run a Furler. Take care, Bob Eeg www.montgomeryboats.com (949) 489-8227

Thanks to Bob and the others who responded. My boat is in storage many miles away, and I wanted the wire size so I could order a turnbuckle that needs to be swaged. All I had was a 5/32 spare headstay, and I thought all the sizes were the same. Now I know. Best Wishes, Tom Jenkins On Mar 5, 2012, at 7:35 AM, Bob Eeg wrote:
