Great shots Tom! Thank you sir. Larry, have you done any scupper mods to Corndog? I remember looking at the great mods BEAR performed on his M17 when we were together at Havasu a few years ago. He had installed a thruhull shut off valve in that tiny space..... I have pictures somewhere. Bones, I still have the pictures of the cockpit drain modifications Bear did on his 17. That project is still on my to-do list for CornDog. It'll have to wait for spring, though. We're still mid-winter here, as I'm sure you are too! Larry On Tue, Feb 7, 2017 at 6:49 AM, Thomas Buzzi <thomaspbuzzi@gmail.com> wrote:

Here's a post from back in 2010 that I've kept in my boat work file. Seems like an easy way to fix the old style cockpit drains. "A good replacement for the drain tubes is 1-1/2" marine fiberglass exhaust tubing. It is readily available and can be easily cut and epoxied in place. Remove the aluminum remnants, clean up and rough up with sandpaper the fiberglass remaining in the hull and cockpit. Cut the exhaust tubing to fit and rough it up with sandpaper.. Coat both surfaces with epoxy and your favorite filler and slide in place. When hard clean up edges. Clean strong and no corrosion." I have no experience with this personally, so I can't vouch for it's durability. I wonder if Joe "jmschum", who originally posted this, is still on the list? It would be nice to hear how this method has held up. Larry On Tue, Feb 7, 2017 at 9:53 AM, Larry Yake <larryyake@gmail.com> wrote:

I just checked with Joe off-list and he said it's held up very well. Sounds like a great solution for the older boats with the aluminum drain tubes that tend to corrode over time. On Tue, Feb 7, 2017 at 2:36 PM, Thomas Buzzi <thomaspbuzzi@gmail.com> wrote:

I replaced mine with SS tubing. I wish I had known about the fiberglass exhaust tubing back when I did them 15 years ago! I think the original aluminum tubing only became an issue for boats that were kept in salt water marinas every season for many years. Trailer sailed or freshwater boats seem to still be going strong on the original build. On Feb 7, 2017 4:43 PM, "Larry Yake" <larryyake@gmail.com> wrote:
