Launched at Morris Landing on Core Sound this week to explore the "Thorofare" a narrow waterway that connects Core Sound to a series of Bays off the Pamlico Sound. Morris Landing is a nice place to sail into for breakfast or lunch; good piers to tie to & old fashioned burgers, etc. I wanted to test it's ramp as a start point for a 2 day trip around Cedar Island (30-40 NM). Its boat ramp is a challenge for the single-handing sailor. Need to use your tongue extension & bring all of your fenders to protect from over-hanging concrete walls. Better to use ramps at either Cedar Island ferry or further south on Core Sound
Thanks for the "ramp report", Michael. Would like to hear about the rest of the trip. Fair winds, Tom B On Tue, Mar 31, 2015 at 5:30 AM, Michael Murphy <paulaandmike48@gmail.com> wrote:
