Rick, I was turned onto the aircraft paint stripper idea already mentioned as a way to clean clear coat that had gone bad off of my aluminum wheels. Wow! The stuff worked great! It actually bubbled and hissed while it was working. I'm not sure how it would affect the anodizing, though, if at all. It might be worth a try on just a section on the end like an inch or two long. The stuff isn't very expensive and you can get it from Autozone. Good Luck I feel your pain!!! Hang in there, the pics of your gelcoat looked great! Sean
