Hi. I'm looking for advice on an auto pilot for my M17. I'm looking at the ST1000 but can't figure out if it has any way to 'talk' to my Garmin GPS. Is there something else that will do so? Any advice?? Joe SeaFrog M17
Joe, I have the ST 1000+ on my C25 and a Garmin 176C. The both are connected on the NMEA 0183 bus, but they do not communicate. The 0183 "Sentences" from the GPS are not the ones that the TP is looking for. I would suggest that you download manuals for the specific devices and look up what "sentences" the units are generating. Just call Garmin.
