The waterline length of the M15 is the one limiting factor when sailing South San Francisco Bay (between the Dumbarton Bridge north to the San Mateo Bridge). Going against the current and chop is sometimes not worth the effort. The constant banging of the hull is almost humorous. Sometimes it's a real accomplishment just to be able to tack when the winds are light against the chop. Now I schedule sailing the Bay based on favorable tide conditions and have great sail. If you want to sail SF Bay in a 15 foot sailboat, I can't imagine a better little vessle for the task than Jerry Montgomerys fantastic creation-the M15. Rich Cottrell Menlo Park, CA
