Hi Klaas, I've not been on the list to view current content for a while but I see Tim from Kelowna answered your query about Monty sailors in BC. I'm in north central BC out of Houston and sail S/v Cerulea - a 1974 M17 hull number 32. So I have a most decidedly vintage boat and it is in great shape for her age and well worth any effort to keep her that way. I blew out my shoulder and missed going to the coast last year because of the surgery but I'm hopeful to make it there some day. BTW I bought my boat in Port Townsend Washington and went there twice from Houston because I knew the pedigree so to speak. Congrats on getting acquainted with Lyle and Jerry's designs.

Bruce, you should come down to Kelowna for some sailing this summer. Cruise the lake for a few days. Tim. ------------------------------------

Hi Bruce, Klaas, and Tim, I guess Bruce has dibs on the vintage status...he has me by three hulls (I have '74 M17 #39). I mainly use my boat on the Sunshine Coast, and sail in the northern Georgia Basin, but have sailed down to "meet the fleet" in the San Juans a few years back. Great group, which reflects the pride and thought that was invested in the M-boats by Jerry and Lyle. I'm not big on trailer-sailing, but hope one day to make the pilgrimage to Lake Havasu... Give me a shout any time, and we can put our heads together to talk boats... I'd prefer text over phone calls if long-distance (less $); 604-524-one six 6 eight. Email: doughenning1@gmail.com Cheers, Doug

Thanks and that is a great idea Tim. Is there an especially good time for that and would you be in to sharing some knowledge and perhaps going in tandem? Heck we could talk sailing and guitars (building and playing). BTW, I'm 56.
