Havasu 2012-Howard Rice and Good Old Boat both to attend and give presentations!
If you haven't checked us out for a while, we'd love to have you take a look at what we've got going on at the Havasu Pocket Cruiser Convention 2012. Many new seminars and activities are being added daily. We are thrilled to announce that small boat adventurer Howard Rice is flying in all the way from Micronesia to present and also spend the week interacting with our group! Howard is the driving force behind the Small Craft Skills Academy and recently presented his "Cape Horn Solo" to standing room only at the Port Townsen Wooden Boat show. We also just announced that Karen Larsen and Jerry Powlas of Good Old Boat Magazine will also be presenting a seminar on trailer sailing Lake Superior Jerry Montgomery will present a basic racing primer prior to our fun races - Dave Bacon will present a Sail Trim around the Race Course seminar - Dennis O'Hanlon will show his incredible trip in his Spindrift 22 up the Inside Passage - Richard Woods, multi-hull designer, will give you the 10 reasons that he says multi-hull sailors have more fun! – Dr. Bruce Heath will do a seminar on the research he's been involved in to determine if we are overfishing our oceans – Pete McCardle "The Outboard Doctor" will show you how to maintain and trouble shoot that outboard – and Mark Wilson will host a seminar put on by our own attendees showcasing 6 of their "favorite" trailer sailor cruising locations! John Owens of J O Woodoworks will be constructing a John Welsford designed "Sherpa" dinghy right here at the show!!! Mike and Jackie Monies will be here with the famous SCAMP from the Eveglades Challenge!
