Congratulations on your new hboat as well as 17 years of Monty fun. I hope your new boat brings another 17 years. Come by and visit now and then. sal In a message dated 4/13/2010 1:32:18 P.M. At first I had it sold to a relative of the designer. He was looking for an M17 that he could cut the keel off of and install an new high-performance design. The application was perfect since keel damage due to water penetration into the steel punching ballast is the only problem with my boat. He agreed to buy the boat and promised to send a deposit but was unable to follow through. Then a local boat collector found out about my boat and snapped it up to add to his Lyle Hess collection. I'm delighted because now she will be in a slip near my new Catalina 27 in the State Park Marina at Morro Bay. My part of the slip fee is less than I was paying to keep the M17 in a storage yard. The next day I traded my tow vehicle, a Ford Crown Victoria, in as part of a deal on a new BMW. I will be signing off after 17 years as a Montgomery owner. Carry on.
