I truly do hate the way the roller furling genoa on my CP23 looks when it's been shortened; so, I understand why some folks don't like them. However, as an occasional singlehander who's not getting any younger, I feel it is a necessity, albeit a very expensive option. On the upside, there's nothing easier than yanking on a sheet to let it fly, or winching the furling line to shorten sail.
