For what its worth, NADA value for a Monty 15 from the early 1980s ranges from a low retail of $1,350 to an average retail of $1,620. NADA is way behind in small boat values. They rely on Used Sailboat Dealers to send in quarterly reports about selling price, year, make and model information. The fact is very FEW Montgomerys are sold by used sailboat dealers. These boats are so popular that when used Montgomery's come up for sale they usually go to a local buyer. Or through a computer bulletin board or website like the msog.org site. In 1999 and 2000 you could get M_15s for $2500. But after we started building them again, the price has risen considerably. Maybe double or more. People who have had their older Montgomery's for several years own a boat that has appreciated in value. (Thanks to Jerry for high performance and high quality) These boats have a Cult Following! So don't rely on NADA because if your older M_15 is in fair shape its probably worth at least $5000. (or more depending on up grades) Many people are looking for a nice clean M_boat and are willing to spend (according to their boat wanted ad on msog.org) $2500 BUT they are living in the past. Most of those deals are LONG GONE. Fair winds Bob (949) 489-8227 William Emerson wrote:

Hi All:
Recently, I was involved in a potential swap of my M-17 'grey mist' and a good seaworthy M-15. Many of you may not know that Fern Ridge Lake (home to several Montys) is effectively closed for at least two years. This is the result of a very capricious set of on again off again decisions made by the Corps of Engineers ("We never met a straight line we didn't like").
