Just to add to this discussion, I tow my M17 with a Subaru Forrester with a manual transmission. The Subaru handles it fine and the 4 wheel drive is great at the ramp. Of course I live in flat Florida and only tow short distances. I would never attempt this in hilly areas or long distances. My M17's previous owner used a Volvo wagon . . . I'm encouraged to read that you use a Subaru Forester, aria. --Craig ----- Original Message ----- From: "Maria Jorge" <mcjorge@bellsouth.net> To: "For and about Montgomery Sailboats" <montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Saturday, March 13, 2004 8:44 AM Subject: Tongue Weight? Hey, Gilbert. I actually towed with a Mazda B4000 4X2 'till I lost it to a deer this past December. If I could, I'd love to tow with a VW wagon or Subaru Forester or Outback . . . At the moment, I'm trying to finagle a way around buying a new truck this Spring . . . I'm wondering if I could get away with launching and retrieving at a fixed location with a few-hundred-dollar derelict . . . --Craig ----- Original Message ----- From: "Gilbert Landin" <gilbert@mindgame.com> To: "For and about Montgomery Sailboats" <montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Friday, March 12, 2004 9:13 PM Subject: Tongue Weight? i tow my m-17 with a kia sorento, that thing is awsome.
