Hi All, Is there a method or technique that prevents the Center Board pendant from over wrapping itself on the winch. My pendant keeps getting stuck. It appears that the angle of the bridgedeck/winch is such that it causes the overwrap. We tried wrapping the winch backwards and that didn't seem right either. Any suggestions?
I have found what works for me is to take as few wraps as possible (for me-one), tail hard with one hand(for me-LH), take up tailing and belay asap. When I first got my 17 I overwrapped so bad I had no recourse but the knife. I managed to keep about 1 ½ of line above the case opening, then served on a length of ¼. I used that for a couple of seasons before replacing properly.
