Hi everyone, The biannual Montgomery Group San Juan Islands Cruise will be held this June from the 11th to the 25th. We'll be spending two weeks cruising through the San Juan and Canadian Gulf Islands, launching from and returning to Anacortes, Wa. Our route is still being planned, but it will be arranged so those who can only come for one week will be able to return to Anacortes easily while the rest of the group heads into Canada. This cruise is always a great time, with a fun group of returning sailors each year. These folks who have sailed with us before are the ones that make these cruises what they are, so they have been given the opportunity to sign up first for this years cruise. Fourteen have signed on for another trip. Our roster will be limited to 20 boats, so if you want to sign on this year, get a message to me fast! The remaining spots won't last long. This will be the first time we've had a limit on the number of participants, but due to the growth of the event each year it has become a necessary evil. The San Juan and Gulf Islands are popular cruising destinations, and we simply can't go cruising into an already busy anchorage or marina with a huge group of boats and expect things to go smoothly. This event has been a success in the past due to the manageable size of the fleet, which has enabled a group of strangers to become good friends, enjoying their time sailing together. So... if sailing through one of the premier cruising grounds in the world with a great group of fellow Montgomery sailors appeals to you, send me a reply to leyake@juno.com and I'll get you on the list. Hope you see you in June. Larry Yake

‘Jo and I have made this trip twice with Larry and his crew. It has led to wonderful and lasting friendships that we cherish. It is our honor to be joining them again this summer. I cannot even begin to describe to you how wonderful the San Juan Islands and the Canadian Gulf Islands are if you have not been there, but let this be an indicator..... It is 1503 miles each way from our driveway to the slings at Anacortes. I hate driving. I don’t even bat an eye about making this trip. It is three long days on the road with 12,000lbs of camper, boat, and trailer behind each way in order to spend 2 solid weeks with a wonderful group, in a beautiful place, and enjoy some fantastic Sailing. By the time the first two or three days are behind you, you lose complete touch with all the concerns of the “Real World” that you have. Believe me, this is true. If you want to get and idea of the trip...I have some dreadfully long videos on my youtube channel of the last one. Just go to Youtube.com and search “nebwest2” There are a bunch of videos of the trip on there as well as one overview of the San Juan portion only with music that I should be put in jail for......seemed like a good idea at the time ! hahaha Here’s the link to that one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s1gZKbOqOok Larry, thanks for putting this together AGAIN (How many have there been now..5?) You have been responsible for creating some fantastic friendships, ours included. S, MJ, and B M23 “Daunltess” M17FD “Sneakers”
