Dave, I am (still) in the process of restoring my M-5.8. The seat (Air Tank) used to trim the boat is cracked and takes on water. I had planned to cut a hatch into the air tanks and fill them with "Swim Noodles". I have used expanding foam in the past and after a few years, if water gets to it, it starts to brake down and cause a mess. That's my personal experience, yours may be different. I figured if the noodles become old and loose their buoyancy, I can always replace them a lot easier then trying to excavate expanding foam. I'll try and keep you posted on my progress.
