When you buy the Blue Charts CD, you are entitled to one 'unlock code', and that one set of data usually covers a lot of area. When I purchased mine, I used the unlock code for SW Florida, and that covered from Biscayne Bay, all the way around to Tampa bay. Then, for an additional $116, I bought the unlock code that allowed me to cover the Gulf coast from Tampa to New Orleans. It ain't cheap,but it surely is nice to have. Since use my GPS primarily for my airplane, I have a Garmin GPSMAP-196, a hand-held unit, which has the Jepperson database for every public use airport in the USA. I also bought the auto package which covers the entire USA. It even talks to you when you are approaching a turn and tells you which way to turn. I used to fly with just a map, a compass, and a watch, but I'd get lost in a hurry now. I also tow/launch/recover my M15 with a Pontiac Grand Prix V6. I don't have any problems. My car is rated for 1,200#. I'll put a trans cooler on it before I go any long distance.
