My recently acquired M15 lacks a portable head. Can anyone provide the brand and model number of a unit that fits the space available? If there are several that will fit, do people have an opinion as to the best? I have zero experience with such, as going over the side is sufficient for me, but the Admiral demands seated comfort. I would guess simple is the best but any input would be appreciated. The Admiral has rejected my suggestion of the old cedar bucket. Thanks, Paul M15 #471
Hello Paul, I am a new owner myself and had the same question. I emailed Bob Eeg and he said the brand/model that works is the Thetford 135. They are a discontinued model but you can find them if you search for them, I found a new old stock one on ebay. It fits the M15 space perfectly, my boat is 2011 year. Good luck. Note: the Thetford 260 will not fit (even though Thetford sells the 260 as being the same siza and and a 'drop in replacement'). :: Dave Scobie On Jul 22, 2015 7:52 PM, "Oscar Cordoba" <o.cordoba2015@gmail.com> wrote:

Paul & Oscar, I have an older M-15 (1982) and you are correct the Thetford 135 is the model that was when Jerry built the boats. However, as you mentioned the Thetford 135 is no longer being manufactured. But, not to worry, If you buy the replacement model, which is slightly larger, you can remold the base to fit. All you need to do is fill the waste tank (base) with some boiling water. Apply downward pressure (sit on it) with the unit in place. Drink two beers (your choice) while the water cools. Empty the waste tank and you're all set. This is the process I used and it works beautifully. I have one for sale. It’s a Thetford 135. It fit my M15 perfectly and I kept it to use in my M17, but now I use wag bags and a 5-gallon bucket with a seat. GARY ~~~~_/) ~~~~ Good judgment comes from experience, and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.

I'm with Gary. Wag bags are the way to go. Been using them on river trips for years. That whole portapotty wash out thing creeps me out. t On Mon, Aug 17, 2015 at 4:17 PM, GARY M HYDE <gmhyde1@mac.com> wrote:
