Interesting boat spotted in Monterey Bay
I saw this last summer in Monterey Bay. Do you guys think it's an M boat? It looks like it has been converted to a ketch rig with a windvane, sitting headroom cabin extension, and the loudest paint job I've ever seen. I'd love to hear the story behind this. Tyler Davis, CA M15 #157 "Defiant"

Sure looks like a Monty 17 to me. Obviously owned by a gay spirited person. He/She wants to stand out in the crowd. -----Original Message----- From: Tyler Backman <casioqv@usermail.com> To: For and about Montgomery Sailboats <montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Fri, Jul 17, 2015 3:23 pm Subject: Re: M_Boats: Interesting boat spotted in Monterey Bay The attachment didn't go through, try this link: http://i.imgur.com/WSzP08t.jpg Tyler

Sounds like it was the boat I sold to a guy in Monterey, w/o a rig or trailer. I delivered ti to him at the time of the Loma Prieta earthquake, with the boat on top of my pickup, and was approaching Monterey, close to the epicenter, when the quake struck. The truck was really rocking and rolling! All the electricity was off in Monterey so I couldn't unload the boat so I stayed in a hotel where a bunch of us sat at the dark bar getting free drinks and counting the aftershocks. Can't remember the customer's name but he was a nice guy, if you like guys. -----Original Message----- From: Sandy via montgomery_boats Sent: Friday, July 17, 2015 3:45 PM To: montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com Subject: Re: M_Boats: Interesting boat spotted in Monterey Bay Sure looks like a Monty 17 to me.
