I think the cork in the cockpit drain (scupper) is an elegant solution, if augmented of with a lanyard tied around the helmsman's waist. Added Buoyancy! Auxiliary PFD Assistance. Temporary Floatation....... Thinking of other ways to complicate my Life, And finding new ones momentarily!
