Good news - my Rogue with a towing capacity of 1102 lbs, towed my M15 some 90 miles, with no problems. No overheating, no problems going up hills, no problems braking. It was a bare-bones tow - left the boom and rudder/tiller and most of the gear at home. Its a cvt (continuous variable transmission), with an option to downshift to lower gears. I generally drove in speed 5 on hills, and speed 6 on flat areas and down hill. No problems, gratefully. Thanks to all for advice and suggestions. Rusty: I used to own Vanilla and towed her with a 2001 Forester, no problem. Also towed an M17 with a 2004 Forester with turbo for about 10,000 miles. No problem. Glad Vanilla is getting some use.
