Havasu Pocket Cruisers seek "Ports O' Call"
The Havasu Pocket Cruisers Convention is exploding this year. This event is 100% designed to support the trailer sailor community, industry, and community of Lake Havasu City. Please visit the web site and see "a message from the organizer" to get a better understanding of what the whole deal is about. www.sailhavasu.com Even if you can't make it this year, you may be able to help out. Still 5 and half months out from the event we have over 60 boats booked. Crews are traveling from all over the country, as well as from Canada. Boats are coming from as far away as Louisiana, Tennesee, and Ontario. As you can imagine, some folks are making quite a comittment to travel that far both in time and $$. I would love to help make the trip easier for them. Here's where you come in. Do you have a sailing club or organization that could help those weary travelers with a place to lay their heads for the night? All they would need would be a safe place to park their rig and warm place to spend the night. Then they'll be on their way in the morning, continuing their trek to the gathering here in Arizona. This event is all about friendship and continuing to come together to help ourselves and the industry that makes our sport possible. It is one of the most diverse groups of folks you'll ever meet. Who knows, you may make a lifelong friend, or be encouraged to come along next year. If you or your group can help make this happen please contact me at Sailhavasu@aol.com We have a googlemap on our website where the locations that all registered participants are coming from is shown. We will list any "ports o' call" on there as well, and facilitate getting folks together through the internet. Thanks in advance for all the help. This is going to be a great year for us. We'd love to have you come join us. But if you can't you still may be able to play a big part in making it happen. Sean
