Have any of you skippers installed teak grading on M15? Was it made from a kit? Has it worked out for you? Thanks Capt Jim M15 Pelican
Jim. There are teak grating kits. Need a basic-ish woodshop to do the assembly. Very pretty, easy on the feet (except on the hottest days, and aren't going to slide/fold like using Dri-Dek. Defender & Fisheries sell the kits (or did). Cost - make your eyes water. :: Dave Scobie :: M6'8" #650 :: Baba 30 #233 DEJA VU :: former owner SV SWALLOW - sv-swallow.com :: former owner M17 #375 SWEET PEA - m17-375.com :: former owner M15 #288 SCRED - m15namedscred.wordpress.com On Fri, Jul 29, 2022, 11:52 AM Jim Sadler <jimsadler@jascopacific.com> wrote:

I have heard from people that race that the teak cockpit floor grating was heavy enough to noticeably hurt performance... I assume you are doing this to keep your feet dry. What I do is shove a microfiber rag in the drain hole to keep peoples feet dry, if it's calm conditions and zero chance of boarding waves. If it's rough, I'm getting wet anyways and don't worry about it and/or wear rubber boots. Probably could cut to fit. M17 cockpit floor is about 10sf Doesn't look very dog friendly so probably not for me. Jeff 17-496 On Fri, Jul 29, 2022 at 12:13 PM <casioqv@usermail.com> wrote:

For that purpose I would put some pad eyes on the vertical faces of rear and/or sides of cockpit. Unless the cockpit grating is fastened to the boat somehow, if you had a knockdown or even close to it the whole assembly could go flying...including the fuel jug... cheers, John On 7/29/22 17:28, Jim Sadler wrote:
