Damn Gordon, You sure make a snow bound New Englander drool with your descriptions of SF and other California sailing.......... Now if I could interest you in some ice sailing, ................. Connie
Yes Connie, I understand. I'd hand you a hanky for the druel, but that's like trying to fax you some soup, right? My apologies for those with cabin fever, BUT - he asked about our local conditions, right? FYI - I used to spend the week working with one of 'our plants' in New Jersey (off 202) and/or dealing with the slush and snow in Phillie, Newark, Blue Bell - PA, Valley Forge, or New York all week, then you can imagine the dirty looks I got - when people would ask me what I was going 'to do this weekend' and my answer was "go sailing!" (in January). I also spent about 5 years in & out of Winnepeg Canada - usually forty below with a 60 knot wind chill this time of year. Snow STAYED powder and drifted across the roads for months on end. So you can imagine that I get funny looks from people out here when I tell 'em "we're spoiled" (they're usually clueless here). Ice sailing isn't much different than sailing on flat desert, it seems faster than water sailing (and falling off is 'hard' to take for these ole bones). I also spent some time on the High Mohave (120+ in the shade if you 'make your own'). But it would be fun to take you up on your offer. My Dad was born in Massachusetts & one Grandpa lived in O.O.B. Me. We still have an Aunt in Boston that we talk to frequently. So hang in there, the white stuff should be leaving before long (we hope, we hope). ga ----- Original Message ----- From: <chbenneck@juno.com> To: <montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Thursday, February 20, 2003 6:13 PM Subject: Re: M_Boats: San Diego
