All, Just in the last few days I have been hearing and reading about the HUGE!! (that is, like twice the size of Texas) plastic trash depository that has formed in the central Pacific, to which most of the plastic trash dumped from the Pacific shores of Asia and the US has migrated over the past few decades. It's scary stuff, and definitely discourages plastic dumping, however small. I have been carrying my (full) plastic ashore and dumping it in the appropriate receptacle (known at sea as a head).
