Re: M_Boats: MONTY SITES and new member introduction
Juan, I agree with you that it would be nice to consolidate the idea sharing a little better. I started out on this list, but lately have been lurking on TrailerSailor. I think that as a group of Monty sailors we are missing an opportunity for idea sharing if some of us are only on mailman.xmission and others are on TrailerSailor, and who really wants or has time to post redundant messages? ALSO as a group of a larger community of trailer sailors, some of whom may own a Monty and a different boat--like maybe also a West Wight Potter, O'Day, or Vagabond--it makes it easier for other boat groups to "jump in" and share general ideas that they learned with their "other" boat, such as a rudder repair. And vice versa. This is why I think that we should rally behind the TrailerSailor board and make one strong community stronger there, at the same time not only bring Monty owners together in one group on the Monty board there but also together along with other trailer sailors. Neil, I agree with everyone that I don't want to risk splitting us up any further. Both this and TrailerSailor's forums are good. I will follow the majority. I don't want to get involved with the political aspects. ;-) Juan More M17 # 359
