Dave My intention to place the track in the same place the mainsheet is presently located on the deck outside the companionway hatch. This should keep the Main sheet out of the way using either the present mainsheet system or going to a 4 part system all will be out of the way of crew.
Thanks for the insights in crew location. Coming from a larger boat this helps. I did sail a WWP15 for a year and returned to a larger boat but think I am ready to go small at this stage:-)

Hello fellow M-boaters and list cruisers, I have some new photos and captions posted to the M-23 web site. They show the stripped out hull on the port side where the water damage was from years of leaking. I found one of the cleats on deck leaking as well and what may have been a leak from the hatch slide. It is instructive to sit in your cabin on a rainy day! I pulled the hatch slide as they are being replaced this winter. Also slated for replacement are a bunch of slats and the shelf that were all damaged by a leak that came with the boat and must have been active for many many years. Of course, first the root cause of the leak must be repaired via the resealing of the hull to deck joint! All deferred until March. Thanks and of course I will continue to update. I had the good fortune to be able to access Sean's Dauntless web site ( a truly informative well written site) to help guide a lot of the projects I had to undertake. I really appreciated being able to see and share his experiences. Besides, there is only so much the Admiral wants to hear about the projects so the outlet of the web site is a good way to keep the ship mates happy!
