Re: RE: M_Boats: Kitchen for M15
------------------------------------------------- Need internet access when you travel? See our new Net2Roam service at http://web2mail.com/n2r.php?1 ------------------------------------------------- The previous owner of my M15 built such a removable unit, but it fits in place in the access opening in the RH (and, I suppose, the LH) berth rather than the head area. It's made of fiberglass and plywood, supports one of the single burner screw-onto-bottle propane stove rigs with an opening for flame control, has a removable cutting board, and a utensil stowage area I haven't quite figured out. I've never used it (in fact, I still haven't gotten Chimpanzee into the water since I bought it last May) so I can't say how it works. It appears that, if turned upside down, it could be stored by dropping into the berth opening and placing the removables inside, but I haven't tried to see if it actually works that way; I hope so, otherwise a good bit of a berth would be lost, though that wouldn't matter for singlehanding. I have been intending to take some photographs of this to pass along to the MSOG, and maybe this query and my wife's new digital camera will give me the motivation I need. I've decided to construct a removable kitchen unit for our M15 that fits in the space where the portable head now resides. I have a crapper I use for wilderness canoe trips that works great and can be stored elsewhere and is smaller (go to http://www.eco-safe.net/ to see the Boombox). Has anyone built such a unit to specifically fit that space? t

I think we could all come up with nice pictures of our boats, but with limited space available, I'd hope that whatever picture they use has Jerry M. himself at the helm. Might as well get both legends with one shot!

I'm writing a long profile on Lyle Hess for Good Old Boat magazine. I'd like to obtain some pictures of Montgomery boats and anecdotes about Lyle Hess from people who knew him personally.
I noticed your website. Might you or others in the group have photos to illustrate the article? For the photos to be usable, they can be electronic but must have a format of 300 dpi and not exceed 5 megabytes each (my server doesn't like bigger ones).
Any help you can give me will be much appreciated. I'd love to include photos of all the boats Hess designed.
