Arnold, Sails that are designed or modified to work on a furler have a foam or rope luff "filler" of sorts that takes the fullness out of the sail as it is furled so they can maintain a decent sail shape. My 150 is pretty good down to about a 90. It seems to vary a little depending on how the sail is made, but that's seems to be about the maximum range you can expect. I'm in eastern Washington, north of Spokane. I mostly sail in north Idaho, but I trailer all over. Sailed in your area a few years ago, from Portland down to St. Helens and back. I've used a CDI furler on my M17 for several years and wouldn't be without it. It adds a couple minutes work at launch and take-down is all. I leave the sail (a 150 genoa) furled around the foil, slide a custom made sleeve over it for trailering, and strap it all to the mast for trailering. The CDI furler uses it's own internal halyard, which leaves your original halyard available for hoisting a free flying drifter. Or the hanks on your drifter can be modified to use loops with wooden beads which loop around the furled headsail and ride up and down it as you raise and lower the sail. I've tried both ways and prefer to fly the drifter free.
