Need to replace all the rotted rope on what is becoming my M17. (By “all the rotted rope” I mean _all_ the rope.) The pieces that are left measure 5/16”. That looks right for the halyards and incidentals, but the sheet blocks and cleats look like they were intended for something larger. What is (are) the usual sizes? About the only piece that isn’t coming apart is the centerboard pendant. It’s tempting to leave it alone as I don’t really have a plan for getting at the centerboard.
All lines below double braid - Main halyard = 1/4" Jib halyard = 5/16" Reefing lines =3/16" Cunningham =3/16" If your hands can stand 1/4" for jib sheets; otherwise 5/16" Main sheet 5/16" Mainsheet traveler = 3/16" Boom vang will be 3/16 or 1/4 depending on vcleat size. Backstay adjuster will be 3/16 or 1/4 depending on vcleat size. Hope the above is helpful. :: Dave Scobie On Jan 22, 2016 7:11 PM, "David Rifkind" <drifkind@acm.org> wrote:

Thanks Dave, I had similar questions, David beat me to asking. The below is for an M-17? Or an M-15? Or both? Just curious - 1/4" seems light for main halyard on an M-17 for example. thanks, John S. On 01/24/2016 05:13 AM, Dave Scobie wrote:

Dave, A similar chart for the M-15 would be useful too. I remember asking you about the M-15 sheets and lines at Pocket Yacht Palooza in Port Townsend, jotting the information in my notebook, then going into the WoodenBoat Foundation Chandlery with my VISA card in hand and buying what I needed, but I would appreciate the information again in a format like you used for the M-17.
