Bob, the reason I am asking is that my M-15 is a 1981 model (MMP151891281) and I think the centerboard had steel in it. I had opened up on 3 sides and had to be extracted forceably by Morrison Marine (Mel)here is Sacramento. You could also tape the bottom of the hole, then fill the entire space with some mat fibers and epoxy to the top. After it cures, then re-drill the hole with a 3/8 drill bit.

In either case we do have lead filled centerboards available. These will never rust or crack.

I did not change the opening to the hole. The cracks and voids were on the inside. I ended up using Bondo rather than 5 minute epoxy. I knew that I would have to file with a rasp to the correct internal size. Epoxy would have been like working in concrete.
