Re: M_Boats: Lake Pleasant AZ Winter Messabout ( replacing WrinkleBoat Ran Tan for 2019)
Doug, Sorry for the sarcasm there. There are trees around the lake - people from other parts of the country call them 'large shrubs', there are also sunken remains of some gnarly tough trees that eat anchors on occasion! There are also saguaro cactus, creosote, and other beautiful plants! You will be fine anchoring out and kayaking to shore if we don't have a nice sandy beach.I hope to have a 7-11 'going' by then that could serve as a shuttle dinghy for those that do not have adequate back-up. I may even sail the little bugger!Take a look at the photos in the link below for Lake Pleasant - they are for 'advertising means' typically showing conditions at 'high water' - we may expect good water levels based on data that will a bit lower than those shown, but should be good. https://www. maricopacountyparks.net/lake- pleasant-regional-park-lp/ We will have a good idea as to the exact location in January or even late December. A quality location shoreside is our goal! Keep the questions coming - if we don't have the answer.....we will make one up! {;>) GO -----Original Message----- From: doug <doug9326@gmail.com> To: Gary Oberbeck <gilasailr@aol.com>; For and about Montgomery Sailboats <montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Thu, Nov 29, 2018 9:04 am Subject: Re: M_Boats: Lake Pleasant AZ Winter Messabout ( replacing WrinkleBoat Ran Tan for 2019) That would be helpful. Or just say, ‘there are no trees to anchor to’. That works. I just want my boat to be safe with those rocks around. I use an inflatable kayak as my dinghy and can anchor out a bit and still get to shore without swimming. Dynamite is not allowed unless you bring a chainsaw to get the fish out of the trees. Be good to see you there, Phil. -----Original Message----- From: PHILIP MCCOWIN via montgomery_boats Sent: Friday, November 16, 2018 3:59 PM To: Gary Oberbeck ; For and about Montgomery Sailboats Subject: Re: M_Boats: Lake Pleasant AZ Winter Messabout ( replacing WrinkleBoat Ran Tan for 2019) Hi Gary, Not involved with the Leukemia Cup Debacle?
