hmmmmmm....first I heard of the Ozarks sail. Sounds pretty tempting...What do you say Larry?....Let's look at doing it! 1500 miles...It's only 3 days driving. That's why these trailer-sailors are so great. My buddy keeps talking about buying a 30 foot this or a 40 foot that. I said that's great, I guess. But while you drive over to the same place every time on the coast to go sailing, we've been able to sail the San Juans, Ventura, Oxnard, Channel Islands, Lake Havasu and Lake Pleasant near Phoenix in a period of 10 months. That rocks! Starting to look at Mexico and the Sea of Cortez for next year since it's only about 10 hours from here. I know you get around with Corndog a lot.......what say you? How bout the rest of the San Juaners??? When's the trip set for Bones??? ************************************** See what's new at http://www.aol.com
Sail Lake of the Ozarks? I live about 75 miles away, and I've never done it. A long (100 miles plus), narrow, winding dammed up river. Mostly large powerboats (6 gallons per mile size) on the weekend (you don't want to be anywhere near the water on a summertime Sat afternoon), but totally empty and doable during the week. Would take about a week to sail from one end to the other, unless you get caught up in the practice of stopping at all the bars and restaurants along the way. Hundreds of those! Please allow me to add to the confusion of Lake of the Ozarks/Woods. How about Lake Texoma for a great summer get together. It is centrally located on the border between Texas and Oklahoma right on I-35. It has more than 90,000 acres of fresh water, 450 miles of shoreline, several marinas, is a terrific sailing lake and is the home for the manufacturer of Valiant Yachts. -----Original Message----- From: montgomery_boats-bounces@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:montgomery_boats-bounces@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of Howard Audsley Sent: Wednesday, October 03, 2007 8:24 AM To: For and about Montgomery Sailboats Subject: SPAM - Re: M_Boats: Lake of the Ozarks sail????
