RV: M_Boats: Bunk Boards: wood type?
Bill, If you want to use pressure treated wood you may want to consider that sodium borate, as used in Osmose's "Advance Guard" pressure-treated wood, is both benign from a health standpoint and effective in the absence of water, but will leach out of the wood when submerged in water. You may want to consider treated wood specified for "below ground" use treated with a biocide (ACQ, copper azole) that will not leach out as much. Look for brands "Preserve", "NatureWood", and "Natural Select". You may want to be sure that you do not use wood treated with CCA (copper-chrome-arsenic) that is being phased out of most applications because of toxicity concerns.
