All, I just found a neat website: http://www.oceangrafix.com/o.g/index.html which allows you to look at any chart in the NOAA index. It has a chart viewer window with scroll and zoom controls that let you see the chart in high resolution at any zoom level. Unfortunately, you can't print from the viewer. I have been using it together with a Garmin 72 which shows only buoys and markers, but not shorelines, depths, or landmarks. The chart relates the Garmin markers to the actual environment and makes it easy to find the right markers to set up waypoints, measure distances and bearings, etc. Lots of fun.
